Two Companies Team Up To Provide New Service For Hospitality Point of Sale systems

Greenville, SC -  April 8, 2004 — ProActive Technology has formed a strategic alliance with one of the United States’ premier sources of retail Point-of-Sale systems, Postec Inc., to deploy Vigilix technology on hospitality POS systems -- giving restaurants, resorts, and hotels the benefit of a leading edge technology that detects potential problems and resolves them automatically. “This effort enables Postec to take our technical support and customer service to a new level and give our customers peace of mind,” said Sam Reynolds Vice President of Postec.

Through the relationship, ProActive Technology will deploy the Vigilix platform to hundreds of Postec clients who use Micros, IBM, NCR and other Point of Sale systems throughout the nation. With application specific monitors, Vigilix detects potential technical issues, initiates automatic repair actions, and instantly alerts Help Desk agents through automatic case creation within Postec’s customer service database. For the unit managers of Postec’s clients, the new technology means they can avoid guest service disruption as a result of common problems associated with end of day process interruptions, reports generation assurance, data transmission verification, business date inconsistency, credit card batch creation and settlement or other possible causes. “We can detect potential problems as they are emerging and put out the ember before it ever becomes a fire. Our goal is to resolve a problem before our clients even know they had one,” Reynolds said.

ProActive Technology President Andrew Kurtz said the Postec relationship indicates the strength of Vigilix in solving specific problems in the hospitality industry. “By monitoring these conditions, Postec can get in front of the problem and manage it before it negatively impacts the restaurant or hotels guest service,” Kurtz said. Vigilix, which is also used in manufacturing environments, is a robust platform that has applications for multiple industry segments.

The relationship follows an extensive development phase.
