Tri-County Quality Foods
Tri-County Quality Foods is a regional grocery retailer serving a
half-dozen small cities across northeast Georgia.
Challenge:
As an independent grocer, high productivity and low TCO is critical to
Tri-County’s success. Increasing maintenance issues with an aging NCR 2127
system were threatening both profitability and the quality of the customer’s
experience when shopping at Tri-County. In searching for a new POS system,
it was important to find a vendor who could not only deliver a cutting-edge
solution, but also provide a high level of service to the widely scattered
Tri-County stores.
Solution: Following an evaluation of software, equipment and
service capabilities from a variety of vendors, Tri-County selected Postec
to help them transition to an IBM ACE system.

“We selected Postec and the IBM ACE product for our next generation of
POS as a best of breed solution” stated Ed Cook, POS director of Tri-County
Quality Foods. “The IBM ACE system has been an easy transition for our
cashiers from the NCR system. Its ease of use, reliability, longevity, and
investment protection are unmatched by any POS system in the industry.” “The
new ACE bundled pricing makes IBM very affordable for the independent
grocer,” Cook added.
Results: Postec’s promise to fully support Tri-County was a major
factor in choosing Postec, and according to Cook, Postec has delivered:
“Postec has proved to provide the most responsive, professional service to
our stores, which currently have both IBM and NCR installed.”
“Postec’s technicians in the Atlanta and Greenville offices surround our
stores nicely in the northeast Georgia corridor, and are very knowledgeable
on both our legacy NCR system and the IBM ACE system”, said Cook. |
