Pinehurst Resorts
The
Pinehurst Company Resorts is the nation's largest owner and operator of
destination golf and conference facilities. With five exclusive resorts
across the U.S., Pinehurst has build a reputation for five-star dining and
championship golf. A popular option with guests is choosing one of the
resort's package plans, which may include accommodations, meals, golf and
transportation for one special price.
Challenge:
Pinehurst had no streamlined way to deal with guests who selected menu
items outside of their package plan. Servers were required to identify menu
items eligible for meal plan packages and create separate guest checks for
"plan" and "non-plan" menu items. Then the appropriate account for each
quest had to be settled on the PMS; a time consuming and error prone
process.
Management needed to add the ability to provide custom resort meal plan
processing features without negatively impacting customer service or
sacrificing control.
Solution: After examining a range of hardware and software
options, Pinehurst selected the Micros 8700 System from Postec. Postec
Professional Services created custom programming to specifically track meal
allocations by serving period and report tip disbursements. The solution
then generates custom guest checks for both Pinehurst's Modified American
Plan and Full American Plan guests.
Results: Now, guests dining at any of the Pinehurst Company
Resorts participating in MAP/FAP packages are presented with guest checks
that accurately reflect meal plan participation. Additionally, special
tracking is provided to aid in tip disbursements.
Menu sales analysis reports now accurately reflect revenue and plan
breakage by outlet. Guests enjoy enhanced services & satisfaction while
management benefits from more accurate accounting , time savings and
enhanced management reports. Another win/win project thanks to Postec &
