Myrtle Beach Golf Clubs
Surf.
Sun. Tennis. Great food. And lots and lots of golf. As one of South
Carolina's premier resort destinations, Myrtle Beach has it all. In fact,
there are over 110 golf courses in the area, which means a lot of
competition for members. Consider three:
- Myrtlewood Golf Club is one of the oldest clubs along the strand,
featuring 36 holes along the Intracoastal Waterway.
- Pine Lakes International Golf Club is one of the most elegant golf
experiences available. The white-gloved caddy masters in Scottish attire
inform you that the only time you are permitted to handle your clubs
during your visit are when you are playing with them!
- The Ocean Club at Grande Dunes recalls a past era of Old World
grandeur with its Tuscan-accented architecture and stunning landscaping at
its oceanfront location. Whether playing at the Grande Dunes Golf Course
or the Grande Dunes Tennis Club, or dining at the Ocean Club, the focus is
on providing an excellent guest experience.
Challenge:
With this much competition, success or failure rides on providing
superior member services. That takes a superior member tracking system, to
keep track of your best customers and market directly to this loyal customer
base. Three different clubs, three different guest experiences. Could they
possibly agree on a backend?
Solution: In each case, Postec was called in to review the
situation. In each case, Postec recommended a Micros 3700 systems
interfacing with Citrix servers and running the Trako Account Management
System (AMS) by Hotel and Restaurant Systems (HRS). The 3700 provides a
solid base POS system throughout each club. In the case of Grande Dunes, the
systems as the Ocean Club, the Golf Club and the Tennis Club are integrated
and share data throughout the resort. Management can count on the Citrix
servers to provide the powerful reporting needed to oversee operation.
In
each case, the Trako system interfaces seamlessly with the POS hardware,
building a database of clients with details of tastes and preferences. All
transactions, both monetary and non-monetary are recorded for all customers
and accounts. With Trako, each resort can issue member cards for use at all
property outlets. Member cards can provide for discounts and other
privileges, or earn and store bonus points. Family/corporate accounts can
include multiple cards for reporting purposes.
Result: Postec has provided an extremely flexible solution to each
of these clubs so that each can fully customize their member experience. As
one manager said, "by interfacing with our other systems, the Trako AMS
reduces the time spent on manual posts, allowing us to increase hands-on
service levels. Operations are seamless."
